Craig Schwanfelder is a Bay Area photographer. After high school in Santa Fe, New Mexico, he took night classes at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington D.C. and studied black and white photography. He then studied commercial and the technical aspects of photography at the International College of Professional Photography in Melbourne, Australia for two years. Craig finished his BFA in photography at the San Francisco Art Institute.

Philosophically I agree with Erich Fromm when he states that, "living itself is an art - in fact, the most important and at the same time the most difficult and complex art to be practiced by man." That, "its object is not this or that specialized performance, but the performance of living, the process of developing into that which one is potentially." And that, "in the art of living, man is both artist and the object of his art"...
